HARD SHELLED GOURD 8”x8”

The body of the gourd is colored with leather dye and metallic ink dye. The twigs and leaves are wood burned and textured with crackle paste and tiny egg shells. The rim is woven with dyed Danish cord and embellished with beads. A decorative band is variegated gold leafing. The inside has hardened beeswax for extra stability and lined with mulberry paper.
